Recovering in Morocco After Cosmetic Surgery: What to Expect
AR Dr Amine Rafik · Cosmetic surgeon Medically reviewed articleOnce the decision is made, another question arises: what does the stay actually involve, and how long do I need to be there? The strength of an all-inclusive package is that everything is organised — from the airport pickup to follow-up once you’re back home. Here’s what recovery in Morocco really looks like, step by step.
The all-inclusive stay, step by step
- Airport pickup: a driver meets you and takes you to your hotel by private transfer.
- Settling in & consultations: rest, then pre-operative consultations (surgeon, anaesthetist) and a health check.
- The procedure: performed at the clinic, followed by one or more nights depending on the operation.
- Recovery at a 4 or 5-star hotel, with the surgeon’s check-up visits.
- Final consultation and handover of your medical file before departure.
- Remote follow-up once you’re home (photos, messaging, phone).
The detailed flow is on our how it works page.

The duration depends on the procedure. Here are indicative benchmarks:

| Rhinoplasty | 1 night | 5-7 days |
| Breast augmentation | 1 night | 5-7 days |
| Liposuction | 1 night | 3-5 days |
| Tummy tuck | 2 nights | 7-10 days |
| BBL | 1-2 nights | 7-10 days |

What to pack
Bring loose, comfortable clothing (easy to put on without raising your arms after breast surgery, for example), slip-on shoes, your prescriptions and current medication, a valid ID, an international payment card, and your phone with WhatsApp to stay in touch with the team. Any necessary compression garments are usually included in the package.
Activities allowed… and off-limits
Depending on your condition and the procedure, gentle activities are possible during recovery: light walks, calm cultural visits, enjoying a riad. However, in the first weeks you should avoid: sun exposure on scars, the pool and the sea, sport and any strenuous effort. Your surgeon gives you precise instructions.
Morocco offers an ideal setting to recover: a mild climate, comfortable hotels and renowned hospitality turn convalescence into a genuine retreat.
Flying after surgery
The return flight only happens after the surgeon’s clearance, at the final consultation. A fitness-to-fly medical certificate can be issued if needed. To reduce the risk of clots on longer flights, compression stockings, hydration and regular leg movement are recommended — the team walks you through it.
Follow-up once you’re home
The stay isn’t the end of the support. You stay in touch with the medical team 7 days a week: sending healing photos, asking questions, adjusting as needed. The surgeon monitors your progress remotely until the final result.
